Chris Salmanpour

Chris is a produced feature and TV writer based in London. On the features front he is currently writing film BREAKING THE BANK, the true story of the greatest cash heist in UK history for 101 Studios and Fred Berger. Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, Contraband) is attached to direct. He recently did production rewrites for GREENLAND 2 starring Gerard Butler. Christopher also wrote feature film RETRIBUTION (StudioCanal and The Picture Company) starring Liam Neeson. The film was released in theatres August 2023. He has movie THE DETAIL with Jason Statham attached, in development at MGM Studios and his original script THE PROMISE got onto the 2016 Blacklist and he subsequently received blind deals from Warner Brothers and Studio Canal.

On the TV side, Chris has developed FREIGHT for AMC and just came off of staffing on Dick Wolf’s FBI Most Wanted for 2 seasons for CBS. He was also head writer on RIO CONNECTION (Sony TV and Globo) a series about the true story of European drug traffickers in the 70s who established Rio de Janeiro as their hub for heroin smuggling into the United States. Chris also has scripts in development with the BBC, CBS and ITV.

Chris was born in Iran and came to England as a child after the Iranian Revolution in 1979. He gained his degree at Warwick University followed by a Masters from UCLA Film School. He spent years in the Technology/Internet sector having co-founded 2 start-ups and spent 8 years at Microsoft in a number of senior leadership roles.
