Elizabeth Kesses

EJK Productions is an independent international TV company based in Paris and London. Elizabeth Kesses began her career in advertising before moving into film marketing and distribution, first at Lucasfilm and subsequently at Fox, where she became Marketing Director of the UK theatrical division. She now develops and adapts books and original stories for television.

In the UK, an adaptation of Tim Weaver’s 15-book franchise of puzzle-box mysteries has been greenlit for ITV, and a TM Logan adaptation is in paid development with a UK streaming platform. Other shows in development include dramas based on books by internationally bestselling authors Lisa Jewell, Alex Dahl, Susan Lewis and Louise Candlish.

In the USA, Elizabeth is developing Dead Mile, a contained, real-time thriller based on Jo Furniss’s novel, with Sony TV. She is also developing an art-thief franchise based on James Twining’s novels with showrunner Bruno Heller, co-producing with Amblin.

Elizabeth also has several French projects underway, including an original returning detective series featuring Edgar Allan Poe, greenlit by leading terrestrial broadcaster TF1 and set to star Freddie Highmore; a psychological drama with Noémie Saglio; and an origin series about Coco Chanel. She works in partnership with UK and European producers including Moonriver, Gaumont, Blueprint, Fifth Season and Hartswood.

On the talent side, she has built strong relationships with leading actors, securing early attachments from Anna Friel, Melissa George, Sian Brooke, Dominic Cooper and Richard Armitage. She is also working with writers including Sophie Petzal, Sara Collins, David Wolstencroft and Simon Allen.
