Jordan Canning is an internationally recognized director, writer and producer with nearly two decades of experience in film and television. Her work encompasses comedy, drama, family entertainment and genre, with extensive expertise in creating imaginative worlds and working with puppetry, practical and visual effects and complex, highly collaborative productions.

Her films have screened at festivals around the world, including the Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca and Interfilm Berlin. Her debut feature, WE WERE WOLVES, premiered at TIFF in 2014, while SUCK IT UP premiered at Slamdance in 2017 and won Best Feature Film at the B3 Frankfurt Biennale.

Her latest feature, ODDLY FLOWERS, filmed in Canada and the UK, stars Martin Freeman, Emily Carey, Sam Spruell, Alistair Petrie and Lindsay Duncan. It is set for international release in winter 2027.

Jordan directed twelve episodes of the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning SCHITT’S CREEK, as well as BRILLIANT MINDS (NBC), SAVING HOPE (NBC), BURDEN OF TRUTH (CW), FAMILY LAW (CW), THE LAKE (Amazon), BARONESS VON SKETCH SHOW (IFC), FRAGGLE ROCK: BACK TO THE ROCK (Apple TV+) and THE BIG DOOR PRIZE (Apple TV+).

She has directed episodes spanning four seasons of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, including its highly anticipated Season 4 puppet episode. Her Season 2 episode, “Charades,” was named among the best television episodes of 2023 by Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, IndieWire and SlashFilm.

She has won two Canadian Screen Awards and a Directors Guild of Canada Award for directing.
