Tom has produced and Executive Produced more than two hundred hours of multi award-winning high-end drama, consistently delivering internationally acclaimed content within testing budget parameters and constraints for the BBC, ITV, Ch4, RTE and Netflix. Previously Head of Drama North and Scotland at BBC Studios, he has also held senior positions at industry leaders Red Productions, Wall to Wall and Headline Pictures. In 2022 Tom won a BAFTA for his work on the Jimmy McGovern mini-series Time.

If producing is split into different elements; development, production finance, production and postproduction, Tom has over his 30-year career honed his skills in all of them. Sneaking into the edit after a day’s filming on Cracker. Or more recently enabling those who don’t see themselves as creative, to see themselves as an essential part of development. He is a hands-on producer involved in every stage of production, from nascent idea, through to on screen delivery.

Tom has a passion for building partnerships with storytellers, from those at the pinnacle of their careers. To writers and directors just beginning their creative endeavours. Working collegiately to amplify their vision, enabling them to shine and find their voice. He is as comfortable sat next to monitor with directors or working through schedules and budgets with producers, many of whom hes know since they were AD’s.

Tom has created content which not only engages with audiences but also identifies new funding models. Smother was the first joint venture with the RTE and BBC Studios and made a profit before any additional international sales on series one.
